Terms of Use (EULA)

1. Eligibility

AstroBear is suitable for users of all ages interested in astronomy and astrophotography. If you are under 16, you may use the app only with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who should review these Terms with you. By registering you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date. You may not transfer or sell your account to anyone else.

3. Acceptable use & community guidelines

You agree not to use AstroBear to:

• Post harassment, hate speech, threats or content that targets individuals or groups
• Share sexual, explicit, violent or illegal content
• Post spam, advertising or unsolicited promotional material
• Infringe another person's copyright or intellectual property
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation
• Scrape, overload or attempt to disrupt the service

AstroBear is a community for astrophotography and astronomy. Off-topic or disruptive content may be removed.

4. Content moderation

We use automatic filtering to screen user-submitted text for objectionable material, and we rely on community reports to catch anything that automated filtering misses. You can report any post, comment or user profile from within the app. Our moderators review every report and act on confirmed violations within 24 hours, which may include removing the content and suspending or banning the user responsible.

5. Blocking other users

You can block any user from their profile or a post they have shared. When you block someone, their posts and comments are immediately removed from your feed and comment threads, and they cannot be re-shown until you unblock them. Blocking is private — the blocked user is not notified.

6. User-submitted content

You retain ownership of images, text and other material you submit. By submitting content to AstroBear, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights and grant AstroBear a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and use it for the purpose for which it was submitted. You are solely responsible for the content you post.

7. Privacy & cookies

We use essential cookies to operate the app. With your explicit permission we may load HubSpot analytics cookies to understand how AstroBear is used; this is never loaded unless you opt in, and you can withdraw consent at any time in your profile settings or from the cookie banner. We do not engage in cross-app or cross-website tracking. See our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy for full details.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or ban your account and remove your content if you breach these Terms, including posting objectionable content. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

9. Disclaimers

AstroBear is provided "as is" for educational and hobby use. Astronomical data, weather information and coordinates may come from third-party sources and may be inaccurate or incomplete. We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on such information.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be published on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of AstroBear after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
