ASIAir Full Workflow - 2026 Edition
Peter Zelinka
I've done a few ASIAir tutorials over the years, but with the rise in popularity of the Duo cameras, I needed to update some of the steps. This is due to the design of the Duo cameras, which have both the main camera sensor and guide sensor in one body. The issue is that if you complete the guiding calibration first, then rotate your camera for a better composition, the calibration will no longer be accurate. That means you need to clear it out, and redo it. This 2026 workflow is my attempt at solving the problem. For those with a ZWO CAA or standalone auto-guider and guide scope, you don't need to worry about any of this. The CAA / Rotator will automatically adjust the guiding calibration to account for any sensor rotation, and a separate auto-guider will not be affected by a rotated main camera sensor.

This video is jampacked with information, and it might be hard to keep it all straight. Remember, every mount is unique. It’s up to you to determine the best settings for your mount(s). You can try starting with different values that you see online, at least that gives you a starting point, but you’ll want to go through this process as methodically as possible.
