VdB 17 — Light Through the Darkness

Much more neutral background — the previous green/olive colour cast has been removed. Stronger dust definition — the dark lanes and surrounding molecular cloud structure are far more visible. Improved contrast and depth — the nebula now has a much stronger three-dimensional appearance. Better colour separation — the blue reflection nebula, red emission regions and dark dust are more clearly distinguished.
